A few political realities that were true yesterday, are true today, and will be true tomorrow

The world is the Lord's and the fullness thereof.

In these last days God has spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high.

Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ.

But our citizenship (politeuma) is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our lowly body to be like his glorious body, by the power that enables him even to subject all things to himself.

John saw the holy city (polis), new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

One thing I've been learning lately is that it's more than "worship" in the sense of "religion." Christ is King and we bow down to him as such. The first century Christians' cry "Jesus Christ is Lord" was not as immediately a claim of divinity (thought it was also that in a number of ways) as it was a direct challenge to Rome's universal "Caesar is Lord."
