Dylan and Dixie: Part I

Here is Dylan's take on the Civil War, created for the soundtrack of Gods and Generals (by all accounts a terrible movie) and re-released on Tell Tale Signs: Bootleg Series VIII, which I just picked up at Target tonight. (It's a great "Bootleg" album.) According to the liner notes, Dylan went into several historical libraries and read first hand accounts of the war before writing this song.

I do think whoever transcribed the lyrics got them wrong in at least one spot. I hear, "The world is old, the world is GREY" not "...the world is GREAT."

There are other places, too, but there doesn't seem to be an authoritative lyric yet.
