Self-Portrait

Seeing Lee Friedlander's self portait work reminded me of this shot I took in Santa Fe. I'll title it "Self Portrait of the Photographer as Instalation on the Road of Life"

There's no photoshop here, by the way, this is just straight up, out of the camera. It's fun if you don't know what was going on to try and figure out the planes and surfaces.

I spent a while studying it before I began to see what was inside and what was reflection in the window. There's a lot going on in that photo. I like it.

I chuckled when I read that Lee Friedlander took self portraits of himself by way of photographing his shadow. I've been doing that for a few years now. Some of them are really fun....on the beach, standing by something beautiful, by buildings, etc. It's really fun to do. I just took one when I was in Klamath Falls.
